I am very proud that I am no longer frightened of larger canvases, and in combination with that day temperature, when it was about -10°C, it's quite a solid performance.
The hardest part of the process, isn't the plain painting itself neither the forcing to go out into the cold/hot weather. It's when the
sunset is about to disappear but you're still running from tree to tree, not knowing where to settle your easel. Gradually the beautiful light disappears and you know you ran out of time.
Something similar happened that day, I wasted the whole midday sun looking for a spot. And later then, when I felt just awfully regretfully disappointed in myself and my inability, the rays got that calm pinkish tone with golden brightness and I understood that my light had just arrived.
